Young couple, expecting their first child, are in need of a washer and/or dryer. The apartment they are renting has hook-ups for both, however, they are unable to afford laundry equipment.

A member of our community , who is wheelchair bound, needs a ramp installed at her front door so that she can leave her home for doctor's appointments, etc. This lady has cerebral palsy and requires full time caregivers. While we do not have an estimate on the cost of the installation, My Neighbor in Need is determined to see that she is is provided with a ramp. We will begin getting estimates and contact someone to build the ramp.

A disabled person, with a serious medical condition, has been approved for an experimental treatment program. In order to participate, this person has to travel to the Mayo clinic in mid-April. With the help of others, the low-income individual has been able to start a savings account at a local bank with donated funds. Unfortunately, the fund is short approximately $600.00 needed for travel and lodging expenses.

Retired veteran, living with his daughter and family due to medical reasons, is requesting help with steps and hand rails so he can get in and out of the house safely.

A couple, working for hourly wages, had the misfortune to incur serious injuries from falling on the ice on two consecutive days in December. Their ability to return to work is uncertain at this time and they are very concerned about meeting their monthly expenses in the coming months. They are purchasing their home and were able to make their payment in December with their final checks but are worried about what will happen in February if they can not work. Their mortgage payment is $416.19 a month.

Elderly lady has requested help with snow removal at her home. She has ongoing medical appointments that she has been unable to keep due to the condition of her sidewalk. If a service organization or an individual would like to help this lady, please contact My Neighbor in Need at 366-4596.

Disabled person owns a 1996 Dodge 3/4 ton pickup for transportation. With limited income, he is unable to pay for a fuel pump needed for his pickup. He has inquired at parts stores and the cost is estimated at $290.00. While he can not afford this amount, he is willing to install it himself and may be able to contribute toward this amount. If you would like to help this disabled person repair his vehicle, please send your donation to My Neighbor in Need and designate it as request #34. Our P O Box is 3672. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 366-4596. If you would like your donation to be tax deductible, your check should be made out to Neighbor Works with My Neighbor in Need - Lewistown in the memo line.

Neighbor in Need - NEW UPDATE - SEE BELOW: Organization in Need - Your local Boys and Girls Club of Lewistown is in need of gently used/clean clothing for those who they serve. Socks, jeans, shoes would be such a blessing. In addition, if you would like to purchase NEW underware that also would help many of their kids. You can simply take your donation of clothes to the Boys and Girls Club at 134 Park Street or call My Neighbor in Need at 535-0077 and we will pick up your donation. Elderly gentleman is requesting help to rake his yard and bag the grass. He has a pickup to haul the bags away, just not the strength to load it. He would also appreciate help pruning his shrubs and a small cherry tree.

Single mother, whose car is her only transportation, has a broken radiator. She has a mechanic willing to install the radiator but needs help with purchasing one.

Family,currently homeless due to electrical fire in their rented home, is seeking help. The upstairs, where their 3 children slept, was completely destroyed. They are in need of beds and bedding for the school age children. My Neighbor in Need has been able to provide a single bed and mattresses for another single bed and a double bed. We have also had 2 pillows donated. We are requesting bedding, including comforters, and help with the purchase of two sets of bed rails. In addition, if someone has fun items that young teens would enjoy, such as stereos, they would appreciate it so much!

A disabled mother with two children needs some help. She owns her own mobile home but during the severe wind storm, two of her windows were damaged. She would appreciate help replacing these windows as she is not financially able to do this on her own. If you have some used windows or can help installing windows, please contact My Neighbor in Need.

Elderly couple with large medical expenses need help with their motorized chair that affords the wife the ability to go to medical appointments. They were caught in the rain as they were leaving a medical appointment and since then the chair doesn't work. If you are familiar with the 'Ruby Red' motorized chair and could look at it, they would really appreciate it. Also, they are in need of a couple of small bookcases to hold items she needs to have close at hand.

Husband and wife had to move to Lewistown on short notice. Both are disabled. Husband has a part time job; wife is not able to work due to medical condition. They have secured an unfurnished apartment, but need furniture and housewares. Specifically, they need: queen size bed, bedding, couch, dresser, pantry cabinet, table and chairs, pot and pans, microwave, microwave stand.
